Is Kobukan Right For You?
The students who thrive at Kobukan tend to value:
Consistent, long-term growth over quick advancement.
A genuine interest in traditional Japanese martial arts.
Humility, curiosity, and mutual respect.
Learning not only how techniques work, but why.
Supporting training partners while challenging themselves to improve.
The students who are generally not a fit for the Kobukan tend to:
Maintain active membership or training in another Ninpo organizations.
Prioritize rapid promotion or titles over long-term development.
Engage in organizational politics or rivalry.
Seek a competition-focused training environment.
Prefer secrecy and gatekeeping techniques from students.
Prefer a strict, ego-driven training environment.
We encourage lifelong learning and many of our members train in other martial arts. Because Kobukan preserves a specific Japanese Ninpo tradition and lineages, we believe authentic understanding comes through focused study within a single Ninpo organization.
Hear From Our Members

What a great opportunity to train and learn directly from the Densho and have the opportunity to ask question freely in an environment where everyone wants to grow together.

It's given me a confidence I know I certainly didn't have before I started training.

Egoless people and vast knowledge at every level. Highly encourage everyone interested in traditional martial arts to join.
